Teeny change

I had to change my blog, I got tired of looking at the red. Plus it's a little more balanced now. One of these days I will find someone to design a website for me. Or not. How important do you guys think a website is? I would like to hear some thoughts. For sure I couldn't maintain a website, for crissakes I can't even chat.

  1. This is nice - the other background was kind of intense for long-term. :)

I'm not really sure how important a website is - you have this and the GLBT Bookshelf, right? As long as you have a way for people to find information about your books... :)

  2. I like birdies :D

Seriously though, you could make a wordpress website. It's just like a blog and it updates when you do :)

  3. I love that you have such faith in me. The Dreamspinner site is on WordPress and I nearly broke that one when I posted to it. Seriously, I need to hire someone to make me something fabulous. It's on my list.

  4. IMHO, I don't think you really need a website. I like the blog because it's usually more personal. It would be nice if you added in some information to your blog like what's coming soon and work in progress.

Also, I like your blog change.

  5. I like the new look...didn't really like the red. I don't know that having a website is really that important, especially as you keep your blog fairly updated. I get really irritated with authors who have blogs and websites and NEVER update them. Would be nice if you have a WIP and Coming Soon section. Also, would love to see more of your book covers (and lets face it, you have some fabulous book covers...Change of Heart anyone...'nuff said) and maybe short blurbs. Other than that, it's all good {:>

  6. Linda, thank you so much for the thoughtful comment about the blog, I so appreciate it. The idea about coming soon is terrific. I will totally add that.
Francie, the red was getting to me too. Hello, I'm not a vampire. I might wish I was that way I wouldn't have to sleep, I could get more done, all liquid diet...there are pros to it but again, coming soon is a good idea. I will incorporate it. And I will add the pictures of the books because you are right, I've been very fortunate and they should be shown off. Thanks guys, it means a lot.

  7. Red is my favorite color, but it shouldn't be a background color on a website or a blog, so good, good, good job with the new layout.
Can I just say that I am ANXIOUSLY awaiting your books?! I guess I already did. I agree with Francie, especially about the WIP, Coming Soon, and the short blurbs, oh and that your book covers are fabulous.

  9. I see you use blogger. The platform allows you to create static pages where you can put information about yourself, current books, books due for release etc, without having to create a web site. That will tide you over until you're ready for a web site, if you decide to create one.
Click on Posting ( in your backend). Your options are NEW POST, EDIT POSTS and EDIT PAGES. Choose EDIT pages. You will then get option to create a page. The layout of the pages works like the posts, so you do whatever you've been doing to post on your blog ( putting in text, uploading pics etc).

  10. Thanks for having what your working on, on your blog. I sooo can't wait for all of those books your writing to come out. Love the new blog colors. I agree with the people above that if you have a work in progress, you totally do not have to have a web page.

  11. Oh~ so nice!
lol... red was good but like everyone else said, not for a permanent amount of time... as for the other stuff...
I don't think a website is needed. but if you had a section or page where we could see all your works, the order they go in, and small blurbs would make it better.

I know a little on how to do that here on blogger. If you need help i could try to...

Anyways~ xD Love your works!! so, totally can't wait to read whatever comes out next! <33 lol...

  12. Yeah I have to agree with everyone else a blog is just fine. I think fans just want to know what you are working on and what is coming up. That's much more suited to a blog than a website. You'd be sick of coding in a week.

  13. Hi, see I'm kind of new to your site, as I read before I do agree that a website is not necessary. But for instance, I was scanning you blog, and saw the coming soon section, and in May you say a novella of the warder series is coming out, and I have no idea what series is that, so I search your site like crazy trying to find out what that series is, or what's about, and have no luck at all, I'm kind of shy so normally I wouldn't write, but if you ask me, I will love to see a list of your books covers and blurbs. It doesn't have to be really elaborate. just somewhere where we could look and try to figure out which book is which and which series is which.

Apologize for the bad english, again I usually don't write because my english and grammar suck, I wish I could get my point accross. Kisses.

  14. The two warder books are His Hearth and Tooth and Nail. Change of Heart and Trusted Bond also go together. I believe there are four books in the Matter of Time series. All the other books are stand alone. Hope this helps {:>

  15. Thanks everyone for the comments, and I got seperate emails that offered lots of constructive feedback as well. I think I will for sure work on a website down the road. A lot of authors I know have really cool ones and being able to see all the books with links is cool too.
