Wednesday

I have a weird schedule. I have Wednesday off and Saturday and the rest of the time I write in between shifts at the EDJ. It's hard, maybe not for others, but for me it is, to stop writing, and go to work. The more people inhabit my brain, the harder it becomes. In the old days there would be a patron and you'd write and they'd pay you. But there was no hot and cold running water or indoor plumbing so I guess we take the good with the bad.

In other news, I finished the sequel to A Matter of Time (yeah!) so now I wait and see if it's accepted. I will of course let everyone know.

Also, I need thoughts on help with staying awake. I tend to get sleepy suddenly around midnight but need to push through. The No Doz is not really working anymore, and 3 at once makes my stomach weird. I drink a lot of Revive Vitamin Water and take Ginkgo Biloba (which I think would be a cool name for a writer) and of course regular vitamins. So, thoughts? That are legal.

  1. Apples! Eating an apple can give keep you perked up. The fructose helps wake you up and the fiber and carbs help feed your body. I was doubtful that it would work until I tried it myself. It doesn't give you a jolt but munching on them will revive you and keep you from getting sleepy.

  2. Yay for the sequel being done!!

Exercise break? Jumping jacks or jumping rope? Something that gets your heart rate up.

  3. Chris, really? Exercise? You've met me, do I look like I exercise? That's why all my characters do. I live vicariously through them. Heart rate-bah. I was thinking bigger No Doz. And for the record, five hour energy does NOT work.

  4. Julie I will get some Fuji Apples tonight and see what happens. I can't stand those mushy red apples. Gross. But there's only so much Starbuck's one woman can drink.

  7. When you find out how to stay awake, let me know? And I know how that is. Especially when I'm running the order line. It seems like I'm constantly starting and stopping writing. Guh!!

And thanks for putting up Trust In Me. *blush* I'm very honored. :)

  9. for staying awake? the apple thing is supposed to work but i've been advised to drink lots of water and i must say it works- apparently we get sleepy when we are dehydrated. another legal option- that an ex- used when he did security work for the gov't- is a version on 5 hour energy.

  11. I can't wait until the sequel!!

To stay awake I drink a lot of caffeine and crank up the volume on music. The exercise comes from all the trips to the bathroom!!
