Yaoi-Con here I come!

So this Thursday, October 11th,  I am off to Yaoi-Con where I will not only buy too much, but also turn into a raving fangirl when I go see Jo Chen, visit the Starfighter table and see the Teahouse ladies. I will also hug fans and my fellow authors at Dreamspinner way too tight.

I go a little nuts at the con every year. I blame October. It is my very favoritest month of the year for lots of reasons but one of them, certainly, is that there is always Yaoi-Con. When we moved from Hawaii, my husband came to realize how extensive my library was. Yes, there's a lot of boy-love books on my shelves. And I have my very favorites and the ones that I would actually loan out. I never loan anyone anything that I worry about getting back. It's terrible, I know, but it's better then holding a grudge or being mad.

I was hoping that I could get In These Words Volume 7 (which is the picture there on top) at the con but it looks like it won't make it. I love this manga/story and not because of the content because it's WAY out of my comfort zone and I don't believe in non-con pain. I love it because it's gorgeous to look at (hello, it's Jo Chen, the woman can't draw anything that isn't stunning) and the depiction of obsession is fascinating. I could never write anything like it because for me, there has to be love. I realize as I get older that though it would be so much cooler to be dark, I'm a total shmoopy romantic.

But so I will be there at the con Friday, Saturday and Sunday, so if you're in Long Beach, pop by the DSP table and say hello. I hope to see you there!

  1. So lucky. I can never make it and being such a huge yaoi fan; really hard not to be a little (in other words-A LOT jealous). Makes me think if I ever make it, I'll probably pass out from excitement as soon as I stepped in the door. >.<

    Have fun!! :D

  4. OK, so finally, FINALLY, this weekend the preview for But for You came out on the Dreamspinner website and can I say yeah and boo at the same time. Yeah because it's only five (ok closer to four) whole days until I can read the book and so getting to read the first chapter totally helped with my Sam and Jory fix, and boo, cause really, that's how you had to end the first chapter. I mean, I know that Sam and Jory can work through anything, but that was just mean to leave us hanging like that. Can't wait until Friday...I feel like that woman from the old Mervyn's commercials, standing in front of the window going "Open, Open, Open", but instead I'm haunting the Dreamspinner website and rereading the first chapter and going "Friday, Friday, Friday". May have to call in sick just so I can stay home and read lol...

    1. I remember those commercials (loved them) and I promise you that though Jory is dramatic, he and Sam will always be okay. I love them both too much. Let me know what you think. :)
